The Story of Tempest Droneworx™

On November 8th, 2018, Paradise California (our Founder’s home town) burned.  His family’s house was destroyed, but 85-people lost their lives amidst the over $10-billion in damage.  It could have been prevented if better intelligence were available to forestry officials.

Tempest Beginnings:

Two Minds, One Vision:

The Founding of Tempest Droneworx

Tempest Droneworx was founded in 2021 as Ty Audronis and Dana Abramovitz chatted over a glass of wine. Ty, a pioneer of the drone industry and expert in science visualization, and Dana, a Stanford GSB alum and serial entrepreneur, collaborated to create a platform that provides real-time contextual intelligence from agnostic data sources. In 2022 they realized there was a significant market opportunity to share their user-friendly 3D interface with customers. Customers realized that Harbinger simplifies data inputs and is uniquely data rich and easy to understand, providing real-time insights and enabling Tempest Droneworx to help customers identify issues before they become problems. Over the last three years the Tempest team has developed the Harbinger software platform to:

  • Fuse sensor data from disparate sources
  • Autonomously control multiple robots and vehicles
  • Incorporate AI analytics to enhance operational efficiency
  • Provide a real-time, 3D multi-spectral common operating picture

These capabilities are central to Tempest Droneworx’s mission: transforming how organizations perceive, interpret, and act on complex data environments.
